Clean note layout locally
Use Note Formatter to make study notes easier to read without changing their ideas. Paste Markdown or plain text, choose a mode, and inspect the normalized result. The tool is deliberately local and deterministic: it fixes common layout problems such as headings without a separating space, inconsistent bullet spacing, trailing spaces, repeated blank lines, and unsafe HTML preview expectations. It is useful after copying notes from a lecture, cleaning a shared outline, or preparing a draft for a repository.
The markdown-cleanup mode combines the routine rules. Heading normalization turns a marker such as #Title into # Title while retaining the heading level. List cleanup standardizes bullet markers and ordered-list spacing. Spacing cleanup trims safely and collapses excessive blank lines without merging meaningful paragraphs. HTML preview shows escaped text rather than executing markup, so a note remains data instead of becoming active page content. If you need a different result, run the relevant mode and compare it with the original.
Formatting is not editing. The tool does not correct facts, improve grammar, translate text, infer hierarchy, or decide whether a note is complete. Keep a copy of the original when the source is important, especially if indentation carries meaning in a code sample. Review fenced code, tables, links, and nested lists after formatting because a general cleanup rule cannot understand every Markdown dialect. When a note contains intentional spacing, choose a narrower mode or preserve the source unchanged.
A reliable workflow is simple: save the original, choose one mode, review the output line by line, and then copy the accepted result into your notes. Use the formatter as a final layout pass, not as a substitute for proofreading or version control. The predictable output makes it easier to see what changed and to undo a formatting decision.
Review the result before saving it. The formatter changes layout rules, not the substance of your notes.
